New clinical hour requirements for RPSGT credential

Effective July 1, 2024, the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) has revised the minimum clinical hour requirements for obtaining the RPSGT Credential. The new standard requires 960 hours of clinical experience for candidates applying through Pathways 1, 2, 4, and 5. This is a significant change from the previous requirements, which mandated 1638 hours for Pathway 1, 546 hours for Pathways 2 and 5, and 819 hours for Pathway 4. Pathway 3 remains unchanged as it does not require clinical hours of experience.
